Your provider will apply a medical-grade skincare solution with salicylic acid, malic acid, resorcinol, or a combination that will loosen the bonds between dead skin cells, so they shed or peel off post-treatment. Not everyone will visibly peel, and if this is you, rest assured you are still receiving an effective exfoliation process.

Following a chemical peel, your skin will shed its dead cells, and the peeling can be macroscopic, where you actually see and feel the skin peeling, or microscopic, where the cell turnover is happening on a less visible scale for 3-7 days. You may experience immediate redness or tingling, and redness or swelling is common for up to 3-7 days post-treatment.

Moisturize the treated areas and protect your skin from the sun every day. Wash your face with cool water to help soothe the skin post-peel. Avoid strenuous workouts, dry saunas, or steam rooms.
